LEELA OF SAI
Once Shirdi was flooded by incessant rains , thunderstorms , lighting and Holocaust of hurricane . It was a doomsday . Bhaktas prayed to Baba . Baba out of compassion , gave a cry to the universal master to control Indra , Varuna and vayu , the elements ravaging the atmosphere . The call to GURU calmed down the wrath of the elements and the Storm subsided . The village revived with glee . Shirdi was saved from the deluge . Abdulla treated Baba as his GURU and noted down all the utterances and word of Baba , which later guided those who came to seek help .
As part of his ascetic lifestyle , SAI BABA originally slept on the earthen floor of the MASJID on a rough piece of sacking . There is one incident related twice in the SRI SAI SATCHARITRA , which simultaneously illustrates his degree of renunciation and his ability to perform miracles .
The story tells how , at a later date , Sai Baba slept on a wooden plank which was given to him . The plank was described as 'four arms length and one span wide ' which Saibaba suspended like a swing from the rafters only using old rags .He placed small earthenware oil lamps at each corner . All agree it was a miracle for not only was it 'impossible ' for the rags to hold the weight of a heavy large -boned man such as Sai Baba . But it was far too narrow for a normal person to sleep on as he would have fallen off and furthermore it was too high to climb up to . Each night , nonetheless , he was observed to be up there sleeping , although no one even saw him get either up or down .
